Boulder Spirals Team

Every movement is a dance. The way we get out of bed, the way we roll across an office in a chair (even while stressed out, some part inside sings “wheeee”.), the way we pump gas, all the facial expressions and body language we use in every conversation during our day. Every move is part of a dance that makes up all of you. Most people move their bodies without a second thought. The body hides childhood emotions, fears and joys. How you walk and move is as much about your self-expression and self worth as the outfits and makeup you wear. Too few women move with confidence. Self-confidence lends a woman grace, beauty, and personal style. Boulder Spirals was created as a place where every woman can play, work and train her body. You can use a pole workout as a personal story. You can dance through memories of hardship and giggle at your inner child. At Boulder Spirals, you can come face to face with the present, of who you are now, and learn to get truly comfortable in your own skin. That is why we exist.

The Boulder Spirals Pole Instructor Team have all received specialized 30-hour training in the Boulder Spirals Approach, as well as earning various additional certifications in the health and fitness industry.

Owner & Senior Instructor

After receiving her BFA in Drama at New York University where she studied with Ms. Stella Adler, Sasha began to explore movement and the world of dance. She trained in Modern Jazz with Lynn Simonson, Charles Wright, Katiti King, and Diane McCarthy, classical ballet with Sara Neece and Beth Goheen, Rommett Floor Barre Technique® with Zena Rommett and Lonne Morretton, jazz with Sue Samuels and lyrical jazz with Larry Post. Sasha supplemented dance technique with Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® as well as classical Pilates. Lingering injuries made it too challenging to pursue dance as a career and so, Sasha turned to Yoga. The classes she took at Yoga Zone and Jivamukti Yoga Center changed her life vision. She moved to South Beach, FL, and earned certifications in Hatha Yoga at Synergy Yoga Center, Astanga Vinyasa at It’s Yoga/Miami, and pre/post natal Yoga with Colette Crawford in Seattle. While teaching in Miami Beach, Sasha returned to her roots and became certified in Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis®. Another life changing event occurred when she took a course in Pole Fitness at her husband’s suggestion. She quickly fell in love with the expressive quality of sensuality and strength. She was certified as a Pole Fitness instructor at Pole Fitness Miami and went on to teach in Las Vegas, NV at Body In Mind and The Pilates Studio. Sasha’s classes are based in fun and passion. She believes that through the energy of Pole Dancing, every woman can find her true power. Click Here for expanded bio specific to Teacher Trainings

Leslie began dancing at the young age of 3 with ballet and tap classes. She then studied jazz and modern dance in high school and college. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a BA in Communications, Leslie worked in both the entertainment and tech industries in Human Resources. After moving to Boulder from San Francisco with her husband, she started her own business as a Professional Organizer helping clients organize their kitchens, closets, home offices and garages. It had been years since she had taken any dance classes when she took her first pole dance class at Boulder Spirals. Leslie loved the fitness-based approach to the classes as well as the opportunity to express her sensuality through dance. She performed at the Midsummer Night fundraiser and was hooked! Through pole dancing she rediscovered her love of dance and expressing herself through dance and was inspired to share that with others. She lives in Boulder with her amazing husband and 2 beautiful children.

Pleased with the positive changes to her body and mind, she decided to begin teaching pole, so she could share this sexy dance/ workout with new students.  Chrissy is very happy to where pole dancing has taken her so far and she loves all the new friends she has made.  She can’t wait to see what the future of pole dancing has in store for her!  She can’t wait to see you in class!

__Linda Crane - Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Linda is a first generation American, born and raised in San Francisco’s Mission district. She inherited her love of dance from her Mother and at the age of five started dancing Salsa, without formal training, on Cinco de Mayo parade floats in elaborate costumes. She bounced around different forms of dance throughout her life but never committed to anything for an extended period of time. She has dabbled in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, salsa, hip-hop, ballroom, African, line dancing, and most recently, GoGo. She has also always been a fitness junkie and played in various competitive sports arenas throughout her life, most notably throughout high school in Varsity volleyball (less notably in her recent attempts at softball). After graduating from the University of Washington with a BA in The Comparative History of Ideas, Linda worked in various Marketing and Sales roles, most recently as Rooster Magazine’s Account Executive in Denver. Eventually she co-founded a clothing company called Chronic AllStars® and can be found designing clothes in her free time. With her love of dance and fitness, her competitive nature, and love of fashion, something clicked the day she took her first pole dancing class at Boulder Spirals. She found her true passion in life and has been on a mission to become the best pole dancer and performer she can be. It did not take long before Linda decided she wanted to become a pole dancing instructor so she could share her passion with others. Boulder Spirals has given her the tools to truly find herself and she hopes to share that empowerment with her students. Linda’s long-term goal is to continue performing and eventually compete in the various pole dancing competitions around the country.

__Jaslee Lord - Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Jaslee was born and raised in beautiful Colorado. Through the years, she has tried an array of activities but music and dance have always been a big passion of hers. At the age of five she started taking flute lessons and as time went by she fell in love with dance. Music ignited her passion for dance and movement. After taking dance lessons at several different studios, she started dancing with a competitive Hip Hop dance team in high school and dabbled in salsa dancing as well.  After her Hip Hop days were over she felt stuck in a rut. She went on to pursue another one of her passions, cosmetology, and has been working in Boulder as a Cosmetologist. In April 2012 she discovered pole dancing. She was hooked after her first class and has been dancing ever since. Pole has strengthened her, mentally and physically, and she hopes to share similar experiences with her students. Becoming an instructor at Boulder Spirals has given Jaslee a fresh perspective on what it means to be a student. She is inspired by the fact that you can always push yourself to the next level.

__Katie Houser - Pole Instructor

Katie lives a very active lifestyle, enjoys fitness and is always up for a new workout. Even though she had very little dance background and her flexibility was minimal, Katie decided to try a pole dance fitness class after speaking with Sasha. After that first class, Katie was instantly obsessed and has been pushing her body ever since. She loves how this area of fitness not only changes your body, but also your mind. Katie finds that it relieves all the stress of a busy work day/life and allows her to relax and just have fun! In addition to running around in her booty shorts at Boulder Spirals, Katie is a huge fan of sporting events at her alma mater, CU – Boulder. She also enjoys spending time with her fiancé, friends, dog and two cats.

__Abrean - Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Following the sunshine, Abrean moved to Boulder, CO from Minneapolis, MN in the summer of 2011.  Inspired by the physical and mental value of yoga, she began her practice at a local studio.  Despite no dance background, Abrean was always interested in movement and wanted to expand her physical fitness.  She discovered the beauty and wonder of pole dancing in the fall of 2012.  After attending a Boulder Spirals fundraising event full of outstanding performances, she was hooked with interest.  Upon taking her first class at Boulder Spirals, Abrean was overjoyed with the sincere welcome and kindness she received from each instructor and student.  Abrean soon found out that, with determination, consistency, and support, pole dancing was a physical art with swift and obtainable progression.  Realizing the positive changes she made through pole dancing, Abrean decided to share her insight and flavor of dance by becoming an instructor.  Abrean feels very fortunate to call the Boulder Spirals team and studio her pole family and home.  When not on the pole, Abrean will most likely be found riding around town on her Bianchi fixie, shopping for vintage dresses at Buffalo Exchange, or renting vegan cookbooks from the library. :)

__Amanda - Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

“I am a veteran of the US Air Force that has been through some rough times. After discharging, I wanted to try something new that would help empower me as a woman. I also wanted to find a fun way to stay in shape. I’ve done a good amount of dancing in the past, but I hadn’t tried pole until about 2 years ago. Once I started, I fell in love. Currently, I’m a full time student and I dance as often as I can. One big passion of mine is helping other people and because of this, I really enjoy the opportunity to help empower other women and make them feel sexy in their own skin.”

__Erica - Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Pole Instructor

Erica was born and raised on Long Island, New York.  From a young age, Erica studied the art of ballet.  She trained at the Joffrey Ballet School in their prestigious trainee program in New York City.  After sustaining a hip injury, Erica decided to pursue college instead of a ballet company contract. She received a BA from Muhleneberg College and an MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania.  Discouraged by her leave from the ballet world, Erica turned to yoga and fitness. But, she always felt like something was missing.   When her best friend Anthony invited her to a pole dance class at Boulder Spirals on a whim, she was hooked instantly.  Poling has challenged Erica to gain strength in her whole body.  She loves pushing past her perceived capabilities and the encouragement from the Boulder Spirals that allows her to do so.  She currently teaches elementary school.  When she isn’t on the pole Erica can be found in gorgeous Golden, CO with her boyfriend and two pups, Beckett and Beignet.

Elise began dancing in 2003. After dabbling in everything from tap and African to jazz and ballet, she settled on a Cuban form of salsa called rueda de casino, which she continued to dance (along with other Latin styles) for over five years. In the spring of 2007, just before moving to New York City for school, she discovered breaking (breakdance) and has been b-girling ever since. While in New York, she was introduced to other urban styles and began to hone her hip-hop dance style. Today she reps Street Stylez Crew as an all styles dancer and is dedicated to learning, understanding, and sharing the many forms of dance that move her.
